What kinds of volunteer opportunities can I create?
There are two ways of creating volunteer opportunities.
One is through Events, where you can attach 1 to many volunteer opportunities to a single event. This is typically used when you need volunteers for a single day, like a field trip, or a fundraiser, etc.
The second is called recurring volunteer opportunities, where you want a volunteer for some activity on a regular basis. With recurring volunteer opportunities, you can set the schedule, i.e. every other day, every monday and friday, the first Tuesday of every month, etc. Then CP will create all of the individual opportunities up to and end date you provide.
For events, there are several different ways that you can publicize the opportunities. You can do so within the Volunteer Opportunities/Sign Ups area on the event, you can click the Notification icon where the event is listed, and if you are using the newsletter functionality, it will be automatically included.
For recurring volunteer opportunities, you publicize it by clicking the Notification icon where the opportunity is listed.
All volunteer opportunities are also listed on the Volunteering tab for all parents.
