Yes. When your school requires volunteers to complete training or a background check, you can still mark individual opportunities as exempt from that requirement.
This is useful for opportunities where the volunteer won't be on campus or in contact with students, such as parent-teacher conferences or off-campus tasks.
When creating or editing a Time or Recurring volunteer opportunity, look for the "Requires volunteers to complete training" checkbox. It's checked by default, so existing opportunities keep requiring training unless you uncheck it. This option only appears for schools that currently require training for all volunteers, and it isn't available for Stuff (donation) opportunities, since those never involve in-person contact with students.
For a recurring volunteer opportunity, unchecking this on the parent (and choosing to update future opportunities) will apply the exemption to its upcoming occurrences as well.
Volunteers signed up for an exempt opportunity won't see the training requirement in their sign-up emails, and won't be flagged as needing training on the sign-up list.
