I've created a parent questionnaire. How do I get parents to complete it?

They can edit it by editing their own profile. These are the steps they would need to take if they were a parent that had not yet registered as a user:

  1. Go to your schools ClassroomParent instance and click the Register link at the top right.
  2. Using their email address and a preferred password, create their user profile. The click the link in the confirmation email.
  3. Login to CP using the email and password they just set
  4. Click on their name at the top right
  5. Click on the Actions drop down and select Edit
  6. Update any of the fields, including responding to your questionnaire.

Or, better, you do the following:

  1. If no one is yet assigned to be a Contact Information Change Recipient, you first must assign someone that role. Typically it is a staff member, so when parent’s update their information in CP, the same information can be updated in the school’s system. When a parent changes something in their profile, the recipient is sent information about that change. You will only need to add a person to this role once. You do it in the Admin/Roles area.
  2. Then, from the Admin/Tools area, select the "Send request to parents to update their contact information…”.
  3. Fill in a subject and body for the email, something like “Please confirm or update your contact information”
  4. Send the email (you can send it to an individual, like yourself, to see how it works)
  5. The parents receive an email that includes all of the current contact information for their family (both parents will receive similar emails).
  6. They can click on the Update button to be taken to a page where they can update their contact information along with your questionnaire.
  7. You can send this again in a couple weeks. It will only go to parents that have not yet updated their information.

One note.  Before doing the above, be sure to validate that your questionnaire is working as you would like. Don't make parents complete a questionnaire that is not functioning correctly
